I read a good tip the other week which may aid you the next time you find yourself fishing coloured water- make sure that the fly you??™re fishing with is black in colour.
I haven??™t had a chance to try this out myself, but I??™ve read reports by numerous anglers that the way forward is to forget the bright colours and just go with something black.
Apparently the fly doesn??™t necessarily need to be a big one either, although that can help in confidence. Another thing to try is a very slow retrieve. Have a crack with a blob or for the more conventionally minded something with legs, such as a daddy pattern.
